1 Samuel 26:1-25

In our study of 1 Samuel 26, we see David having yet another opportunity to take revenge on King Saul. However, as with the first opportunity – David resists taking God’s justice into his own hands, and leaves the score to be settled by the Lord. We learn much from David’s example, particularly in regard to his display of mercy – which can be defined as “not giving the punishment that is rightly deserved”. This attitude above all others, was the reason God said of David, that he was “a man after My own heart”.
