As we come to the close of our study in Philippians, we focus on Paul's final exhortations regarding contentment and provision. Writing from his prison cell in Rome, Paul had every reason to be discontent with his circumstances. However, Paul knew that God was sovereign over his life and that everything that he truly needed, would always be provided for. We learn is this final passage many helpful lessons and principles about contentment, and God's provision. Discontentment not only robs us of joy, but it also renders us ineffective in the work God has called us to. Take some time to evaluate things in your own life this week in preparation for this study, and ask yourself if you are finding true contentment in your walk with the Lord. In Christ, we can always be content.
