Last Sunday, we saw that Paul’s primary goal was to know Christ intimately. With Christ as his motivation, Christ as his strength, and Christ as his goal, Paul sought Christ with everything he had, without looking back.
As we get to this week’s passage, Paul encourages the Philippians to follow his example in doing the same, warning them about living for the flesh, but instead, encouraging them to live as citizens of heaven. Paul reminds them of the glorious, future hope that awaits them as the motivation to live wholeheartedly & single-mindedly in the pursuit of Christ. During the week, have a read through the passage and discuss with your family why it’s important to remember that our citizenship is in heaven, along with what difference that should make to our day-to-day lives.
