This Sunday, we will be returning back to our verse-by-verse study of the Gospel of Mark, following the 10-week break while focusing on the Core Values of our church. In this week’s passage, we come to the account of when little children are brought to Jesus to be blessed, but for some reason, Jesus’ disciples try preventing this from happening. But what Jesus does, is that He uses it as an opportunity to explain about the kingdom of God. That the doors to the kingdom of God are opened wide to those who may be thought of as undeserving, insignificant, or unimportant, similar characteristics as little children. But not only that, Jesus explains that the kingdom of God must be received like little children also, with humble, trusting acceptance of who Jesus is. There is much that we can learn about the kingdom of God by taking time to understand this account.
