Mark 6:1-6

As we come to chapter 6 of Mark, we see Jesus again around those people who knew Him the best. However, this didn't always mean that His ministry was more acceptable to them - and at times it even offended them, as we see here. We have already seen in chapter 3, that Jesus's allegiance was to his disciples, more than it was to even blood family - if it meant He would be distracted from the will of God. In these verses we see a disappointing outcome, where Jesus was available and willing to do many incredible things - yet He was greatly hindered by the sin of unbelief. That was the root problem of why His ministry was ineffective, and as we study these verses we get to look in more depth at how unbelief hinders the work of the Lord in our lives, and in the lives of others.
